Just because I enjoy the word.

Anyway... been a while since I've been in here. Facebook has taken over my life.

Me and Jenna are trying.... TRYING..... to buy a house together. We have found a house that we both love, that is in relatively great condition, and is within our price range. So I have come to LiveJournal to vent because I don't care who reads this since I'm just doing it to get it off my chest.

The house was already priced at a very reasonable price, and we didn't talk them down much. We have had the inspection done by a very good inspector (a detective wasn't good enough), and he found a few things wrong, but nothing really major. The biggest issue was the HVAC was 5 years past its designed useful lifespan. The inspection report was 30 pages long, and had everything in it. We only asked them to fix a few very minor electrical issues, and either replace the HVAC unit, or give us a credit to do it ourselves later on.

We made an offer on the house, and they sent a counter-offer. We agreed. That was the most painless part of this entire fucking process. So they are now going to haggle about the fucking HVAC unit? OK, fine, I get that you don't want to spend $6k on a house you're selling, but how about giving us two or three grand at closing to replace it ourselves? You didn't really think you were going to get your full asking price without replacing it, did you? If you did, then you're fucking we Todd did. And if you still don't want anything to do with the AC, then fix everything else. Gutters, deck, driveway, water in the crawlspace, etc. Fix it all. You told me it's been a great house, then have the house reflect that.

Oh, and LiveJournal, you have sold your soul to the devil so you could make a little extra money and annoy all of your users by giving them a video that they didn't care to watch as soon as they log in. Yeah, that was a smart fucking move. How's that working out for ya?
